  • My DD did.  There are 2 rotavirus vaccines-rotarix and rotateq.  FDA and the manufacturer of rotarix (GSK maybe?) have asked doctors to suspend use of rotarix but rotateq use is not suspended.   Maybe your doctor couldn't get the rotateq?
    BFP #1: 3/28/09: DD born 12/11/09
    BFP #2: 11/16/11: M/C at 7 weeks
    BFP #3: 03/24/12: C/P 03/28/12
BFP #4: 04/26/12: please be our baby
  • Yes, she got the first dose of the one that was suspended so we are not sure at this point if she is going to get the follow-up dose.

This would be my guess.  I'd recommend it from experience.  Two weeks after DD's 2 month appt and vaccines, norovirus (the adult version of rota, think cruise ships) went through my MIL nursing home.  MIL, DH, three SIL, BIL and I were all sick.  DD not even an out of place spit up, thankfully!

  • Our pedi held off on giving DS this vaccine at his last appointment, even though he uses the non-recalled brand. We're going to get the vaccine once the recall is lifted. The pedi says there's no harm in delaying it.

I think the rest was added in because when I responded it was only asking if LO had received the vaccine.

  • He got the recalled brand at 2 months and the non-recalled brand at 4 months (was delayed a few days as they had to get the non-recalled brand in stock).
