With my mother!!!! At least 3 times a week she gets into the same argument with me.. on how many months I actually am. Someone please help me out. By the 3 pregnancy calendars I have on my phone (and my dr) I will be 8 months in a week and 3 days. Does this mean I will have completed 7 months or 8 months of pregnancy?? She keeps saying that when I turn 8 months I will just be starting my 8th month.. but technically I will be starting into my 9th month, right??? If I'm wrong please tell me.. I'd love to just end this once and for all lol
Re: So sick of arguing!!
Nope, she is right. You will be starting your 8th month. You are 30 weeks PG and have 2 months left.
I am in my 9th month, but not done yet....
I don't have the link - but, there is a place that tells you the months with the weeks...
Personally though...I consider 32 weeks being 8 months (but, I know that technically you're not supposed to just divide by four)...
So, your mom may be right on this one...sorry
Your twin tummy looks great though
This is how I understand it...
You are in your 8th month from weeks 31-35. You will have completed your 8th month by week 35, at which point you can say you are 8 months. By 31 weeks, you can say you are 7 months...
who cares? Why is it such a big deal for her? I mean you are also pg with twins which means you will most likely not make 40 wks....
I would tell her you are so many weeks pregnant and leave it at that. Doc's use weeks bc its more accurate.
This
Really. Who cares? IMO not something worth arguing about
This is what I do....count backwards. Since I technically have 6 weeks to go, I tell people I am about 7 1/2 months pregnant (I will start saying 8 months here in a week or so). Althought I am "in" my 8th month, that is just too confusing for me and other people when they try and do the math.

Hth!
You need to understand that most months have more then 28 days (4 weeks) SOOOO..... If you count by weeks you are more accurate but if your trying to understand the month thing take your due date and go back from there.
Eg... I'm due June 17th so May 17th I will be 8 months (completed), April 17th I was 7 months (completed). So I tell people I am 7 and a half months!
Hope this helps!
I'm not sure it's worth arguing about, but it is confusing and I go through this with my mom a lot because she doesn't "get" weeks since everything was in months when she was last pregnant.
A comparison might be helpful to not get confused between what month you are in and how far along you are. Think about a child, your LO even, at say 6 months old. Your LO is IN his/her first year, but is not a year old yet. In the same way, when you hit 8 months (in a week and 3 days), just starting your 8th month, you are IN your 8th month, but are not 8 months along yet. Your LO is only a year old after a year is completed, likewise you are only 8 months pregnant after the 8th month is completed.
