DH and I are attempting to do this tonight. Gianna did not sleep at all in her bassinet last night, but yet the night before she did incredible. I know she is only a week old, but if she is in our bed, she sleeps like a beauty.....but by herself no way lol...So I have a bassinet that the top comes off and can be used as a co-sleeper in the bed, we thought we would give it a try. Just wondering how your LO's are sleeping at the beginning stages.
I am trying to start somewhat of a routine with her (well as much as you can for a week old baby)...At her 7:30 feeding I give her a bath and put her pj's on her, and then she hangs out with us (usually falls asleep) and than at her 10:30 feeding is when I put her to bed..... It worked great 2 nights ago and then something went terribly wrong last night lol...She barely slept.
Re: How many of you have used a co-sleeper?

I use a co-sleeper, but it's the kind you put next to your bed, not in it- this is what it looks like.
It has worked out really well for us because it keeps Hayden right next to me but I also don't have to worry about her in our bed. I am a very nervous/anxious person in general, and I freaked out at DH's suggestion to let her sleep in the bed WITH us at such a young age. Other people are totally fine with it, and I might be too, if I had the right equipment.
Speaking of heartbeats, like PP said, they like to feel like they are still in the womb, so we bought this. Since the first night home, we have had the noisemaker part hanging next to her co-sleeper and it turns on whenever baby makes the slightest noise. (Later you can put it inside the bear for them to snuggle with). It calms her instantly. I thought it was a little pricey at first ($25) but totally worth every penny- even if it eats up the batteries quickly!!!
You will learn what she likes- be patient. And remember, you are both learning together what it will take for her to fall asleep soundly.
