3rd Trimester

Should I suck it up and buy flats?

I am in a wedding May 29th -- I'll be 35 weeks -- and we can wear whatever shoes we want as long as they are silver.  Silver Nikes anyone? JK

Well, I have silver heels I could wear but I am terrified of tripping and/or falling while walking down the aisle, especially being so big.

SO do I start practicing now or suck it up and buy silver flats?

  • Shoot, I would go for the flats. I can't imagine standing, pregnant, in heels. Go for comfy!!

  • I'm in a wedding that day too! And will be 34 wks...but anyways...

I would ask the bride if you can wear silver flats. I got lucky and she chose gold flat sandals for all of the bridesmaids. She should be understanding--you are carrying extra weight and may be wobbly.

  • What about wedges?  They're way more comfy than regular heels, you won't feel near as wobbly and if your dress isn't full length, you don't have to worry about even the nicest flats looking too casual.

  • I'm sure you could find some nice platforms (which ARE flats) and comfy to wear. If not, how about kitten heels?

Same here... I remember being in a wedding before i was pregnant and standing in heals could not imagine it now.

  • My sister in law was in my wedding on July 9th and gave birth July 25th. I told her to wear flip flops but she wore I think like kitten heeled sandals. She was a tiny little thing though and her feet didn't swell like mine did when I was pregnant. I guess it just depends on your preference and what you are comfortable in. Our church had marble and tile floors and so when she came on the alter for our vows, her brother literally held on to her so tight so she wouldn't fall.

Something like these: (sorry not clicky, I'm on a Mac.)

  • She told me I could wear flats if I want. The dresses are floor length so it won't really show THAT much.  I may just give in.  On one hand it is an excuse to shop, on another it is one less thing I can get for the baby!

  • I'm in a wedding in 5 weeks (I'll be 35 weeks at that point) I keep threatening to spray paint Crocs silver! he he he .. .yeah .. flats (I am thinking a cute flip flop sandal type of thing)
  • I was in a wedding at 26ish weeks last time and I wore heals.  Biggest.mistake.ever.  My feet were killing me two minutes into the wedding and I did stumble several times during the reception because my balance was lousy.

Go for a cute pair of flats!!

  • I'm in a wedding June 19, I'll be 36w6d. I'm planning on wearing silver BCBG sandals with a 4" heel. I wore heels for my entire pregnancy with DS, even on our way into L&D, and didn't have a problem. I'm bringing flip flops to change into at the reception if I want to, but for the ceremony, I'm definitely rockin' the heels!

Plus, they help me feel sexier and no so huge when I'm 4" taller, so that's a nice plus Yes
