Nighttime bottle wean = FAIL

We thought it was going to be easy, since Evan didn't take it yesterday...but...he didn't have a nap yesterday and was just too exhausted to care!  Well, tonight...he freaked out when his bottle was eliminated from his ritual.  I gave in...but just offered water.

Any suggestions?

    We switched to a sippy, but that's not any better.  I'm worried this is going to be hard.  I'm thinking I will decrease what we offer him by an ounce every few days...but I don't know if that will really work.

    We'll probably just offer a sippy with water instead.  He takes a sippy fine all day, so hopefully, he'll adjust okay.

    Jake has sippies all day, but still had a melt down the first night we switched it out the bottle for the sippy and refused to take it.  So, we put him in the crib with the sippy and left the room.  Sure enough, he calmed down after 5 minutes, drank from the cup and went to sleep.  After that, he was Ok with the cup.  Good luck!
