Bedtime/sleep poll

How old is your LO?

What time do they go to sleep?

Do they sleep through till morning? If not, how many wake ups? Do they eat at those wake ups?

What time do they wake up for the day?

  • Patrick is 4m and change. He goes to bed between 6:30-7p. Over the past two weeks he has started waking to eat 2x/night vs. the 1x/night he was previously doing. We also just started Ferber so he's learning to put himself back to sleep when he wakes but does not need anything. He usually does not wake after the 10:30/11p feed until 4hrs later when he eats again. He is typically up for the day by 7:30a, though sometimes does not go back to sleep or for very long after stirring around 6a. His sleep is a work in progress.

  • We just started a bedtime routine this week. Eliana is 8 weeks old. We put her down between 8-9 pm after the bedtime routine. DH wakes her for a bottle between 10-11 (depending on the last time I nursed her) and puts her back down. She is FINALLY getting the hang of this. She doesn't sleep through the night from that last bottle. She is a LOUD sleeper and wakes herself up. I get her up for the day between 7-8 am. She usually eats once, sometimes twice, between that late bottle and the 7-8am time. We just started this week. We're trying to have a fairly set wake up time and bed time to see if that helps Ellie structure her days and nights a bit better. We'll see. :)
  • Dylan is 5.5 months old.

  • Graysen is 7 months old.

He goes to bed between 7 and 8pm.

He USUALLY sleeps til about 4 or 5am when he wakes up to nurse. He goes back to bed as soon as he is finished nursing.

He wakes up at 8-9am, and is down for his first nap by 11am.

  • She is 7 months old.

    Between 7-7:30 pm

Around 3-4 months, she would usually sleep the whole night through.  Recently, we're lucky if it's just 2 wake ups.  Usually I'll feed her once during the night, but we try to just have my husband soothe her the other times.

Usually wakes up around 7 am.

I think sleep will be ever changing and always a work in progress.

  • Noah is 3 months.

He goes to sleep anywhere from 8-9:30 PM depending on when his last feeding is.

He sleeps till about 7, sometimes 8.  We usually have to wake him up though because I have to leave for work.

If he does wake up during the night, he is usually still "sleeping", so DH usually puts the paci back in his mouth.  On a rare ocassion, he'll wake up to eat at 5, but then go back down.

  • LO is 6.5 months.  He goes to bed around 7:30pm or 8 at the latest and usually sleeps until 6:30 or 7am with no wake ups. If he does wake up, it's just to eat, and that's usually in the 5am hour and we can put him back down for an hour or two. He's awake for 2 hours and then usually takes his morning nap around 8:30am.

I usually know if he's going to wake up earlier than usual if he hasn't eaten as much as he normally does (36oz or more) so I prepare for it.

  • DD is 7 months.  She goes down around 7 each night.  She definitely does not sleep until morning.  On a really, really, really good night, she'll only wake once - sometime between 2 and 4 - to eat.  Then up for the day around 6:30. This doesn't happen very often, but I know she can do it, so it's frustrating when she doesn't.

The last two weeks, she's been waking four or so times a night - around 10, 12, 2, 4, or even more often.  And still up for the day by 7.   She doesn't need to eat except once a night - the other wake-ups have been for comfort.

Thanks.  I honestly don't know how I do it either.  I am insanely jealous of those of you with good sleepers.  I keep telling myself #2 will be more like that - it helps me get through the bad nights!

  • 5.5 months old actual (almost 4 months adjusted)

between 6:30 and 7:30, depending on when she had her last nap

She used to until about 2 weeks ago, now she is up at 1:30 on the dot, either eats or fusses and always goes right back to sleep.  Then gets up at 5 to eat, and goes back down until 6:30.  She is usually up for the day around 6:30 or 7.  Goes down for her first nap at 8:30. I wish she would go back to sleeping through the night.

  • DS is 2.5 months

He usually goes down around 10 pm, though sometimes a bit later to get that last feeding in before sleep.

He usually wakes up twice during the night.  The first time between 1 and 2 when DH redoes the swaddle and DS goes back down.  He wakes again between 3 and 5 to nurse.  He will then go back down for a few hours and usually wakes up a little before 8 am.

  • Great poll : )

We put Carson (4.5 months) down for the night around 8ish, sometimes a little before, sometimes a little after.  Sometimes he STTN, others he wakes once between 1-3, nurses and goes back to bed.  If he wakes at 5:30ish I nurse him and he goes back to sleep for an hour or so...if he wakes up after 6 he doesn't really go back down.

He's not the best napper...he takes frequent catnaps.  After about 90 minutes of being awake you can almost always get him to go to sleep, but sometimes it's for 20 minutes and other times it's for 2 hours.  He consistently takes a little nap around 6:15ish every day.
