did your IVF singleton come early?

I read through posts on here and it seems like a lot of your IVF babies came early like 36-38 weeks...and I have read on the internet that IVF babies come early, even singles.......so when did your IVF baby come? Did you go into labor on your own? I am just wanting to be prepared if this is something that is common......

hardly! at 40w ginny was far from ready to come out. I had a long, painful and exhausting induction.

Yep.....3 days.

So, no, I don't really count ; ) But I did go into labor on my own, after my water broke at home.

Nope, I was induced one day after my due date. And my personal opinion is that she wasn't ready to come then. She was still small and I had all kinds of complications w/ the induction. But that's just my opinion and one that is not entirely supported by my doctor.

I was scheduled at 37 weeks because the baby was already measureing 8lbs and they were afriad i would have HUGE baby. He ended up being 8lbs 10oz

Well he came early but I was induced due to Pre-e , so I got him 10 days early, but it wasn't going on my own!

Nope and nope. 39w1d @ scheduled c-section (he was waaay high up and I had made virtually no progress so that kid wasn't coming any time soon

My IVF baby did come early however it wasn't due to IVF. I have a uni-cornate uterus (1/2 of a uterus). I went into PTL at 29 weeks and with meds and bedrest, I made it 7 more weeks. My water broke at home at 36 weeks even and DS was born via c-section after a quick labor at 36 weeks 1 day. (My water broke at 11:15pm and DS was born at 3:09am and was sunny side up which is why I needed a section). I had steriod shots at 29 weeks and so he required no NICU time.

mine came at 34w6d, but i had preeclampsia, too. that is the primary reason he came early.

i didn't go into labor, either. it was a c-section (always was going to be b/c of a myomectomy surgery i had--my uterus had a high risk to burst if it went into labor) for us.

If 39w5d is considered early, I guess so.

Labor started on it's own and came fast and hard. Contractions went from 10 minutes apart to less than 4 minutes apart in about 3 hours. Baby was delivered only 2 hours after getting to the hospital and that was only because they slowed things down so the doctor could be there. My water broke at the hospital as I was changing into a gown.

Definitely not. We had to go get him- he wasn't going anywhere! I was induced at 40 weeks, 1 day. Wasn't dilated or effaced, no cervical change at all at that point.

I wish! I'd heard that IVF babies tend to arrive early and that babies to older mom tend to arrive early too. I was certain that I would have him by 38 weeks. Imagine my frustration when I had my son by emergency c-section at 41w6d! (My induction was sceheuled for later that day, but was pushed back 36 hours because L&D was full. I developed HELLP Syndrome, so the took him by c-section.) Hopefully, you'll have better luck than I did!

I went into my drs for braxton hicks about 2 weeks before my due date and was told that I should go that weekend. My DS was born 8 days late but induction and then an emergency c/s. He was stuck! Good luck!

He will be but because he's big for his age, and my gestational hypertension is not getting under control. I'm due for planned c section on tuesday which is 36w. She figures he will be over 7lbs at that point.

I was 41 wks and 2 days when ds finally decided to make his appearance. This was after being induced as he was being stubborn and I was getting very uncomfortable.

Even then I had to have a csection because he didn't want to come out! He probably would have stayed inside a while longer if he had has his way!

I was induced at 38 weeks due to low fluid and small baby size according to u/s. DD was 5 lbs 2 oz so I guess they were right to induce. My induction was smooth and no complications at all!

Depends on who you talk to I had two different due dates the due date my RE gave was August 3rd the due date my OBGYN gave me after my 20 week ultrasound was Augst 9th.

I gave birth on August 8th so I was either 5 days late or 1 day early

Nope! My IVF singleton came 5 days late------ at 40w5d! Went into labor naturally despite predicted fetal macrosomia (and it was true.. she was 9 lb 8 oz.).
