Babies: 3 - 6 Months

post your baby's meals (if you've been on solids 1mo+)

we're working on cereal now, but I am stumped about how to incorporate different solids throughout the day (and i work, so i'll need to be planning this out in advance) I intend to introduce slowly (rice for a few weeks, then one at a time every 3-4 days or so (or maybe once a week, since i will be doing it on the weekend)

are you still doing rice/oatmeal? do you completely move on from this? do you mix? is the rice/oatmeal necessary if you're formula feeding during the day, nursing morning/night?

 TIA

7:30 pm - 6 oz bottle and 1 tablespoon of veggies

Just started veggies two weeks ago.  Before that it was the same just without the veggies.

  • We didn't start with cereal we started with 1 mashed banana a day. fed over 3 different meal times. Now we sometimes do oatmeal in the morning mixed with applesauce. He has eaten and enjoyed: carrots, banana avocado mousse, butternut squash, acorn squash, pumpkin, pears, peaches, sweet potatoes. He has had but not too fond of green beans and peas. If I mix with banana or another veggie like squash it's better. He doesn't like the texture since it is homemade and kind of grainy bc I don't have a siv to get all the skins out. I work too and make big batches on the weekend and freeze in ice cube trays. This weekend I am making papaya, plum, and yellow and white squash and maybe some cauliflower  banana purees. I try to do a bunch when I know I have the time so that way if I don't one weekend I won't be in a jam bc I always have more than a weeks worth in the freezer.

wholesomebabyfood.com and weelicious.com are great resources.

I feed one cube - 2 cubes per feeding. He could eat more but I don't want him to cut back his formula to 6 oz until he is a bit older.
