Raspberry Red Leaf tea

I know there are posts about this all the time- but I'm wondering if anyone else has started drinking it...I think it is more or less helpful in strengthening your uterus than causing you to go into labor.

If you are drinking it are you noticing more BH?

  • i drink it, i don't get more BH.  it tones the uterus or something like that, not for inducing labor.

Thats what I thought, but I was just reading an article that said it would cause more BH...I haven't noticed any more than normal and was wondering if I was just oblivious :)

  • I won't start to drink it till I'm 36wks but my OB/L&D instructor said it doesn't cause BH nor labor, just tones the uterus.
  • It does tone the uterus, but in larger quantities it "supposedly" can jump start labor. I have been drinking a pregnancy tea, which has red raspberry leaf in it, through the makers suggest using it in conjunction with their red raspberry leaf tea beginning around 34 weeks. Which is what I plan to do. Also remember to follow the brewing directions, as with herbal teas that take a longer steep in order to get the max benefit from them.

ETA: I have not had any major BH at all.

  • I attempted to buy this yesterday and if you actually read the ingredients I couldn't find a single tea that claimed to be Raspberry Red Leaf Tea that actually had that in it! It is all "flavoring" and usually black tea or green tea or a combo of both. I am trying ALL of the OWT's though and so far...NOTHING! Doesn't stop me from trying though!! ;)
  • where are you all buing this tea? and what "brand" did u choose ?
  • I buy it at Whole Foods or order it from Amazon. The brand that I use is Traditional Medicinals-the only ingredient is organic raspberry leaf.
