I should be writing out finals, but I'm procrastinating big time....
OK, update on the editor meeting who was a previous fling years ago.
...about 1/2 way through our meeting he recognized me. I could see it in his face, and when he asked I just said "I don't know, you do look familiar," shrug... I then proceeded to quickly change the conversation back to the topic at hand. At the end of our meeting, before any more awkward questions from him, cue my sitter bringing the kids into my office (yea!). That gave me the excuse to high-tail-it out of there without any more questions.
But.....big drawback to the meeting, I didn't like the publishing house. Not the best, they take a bigger cut than others, and they don't do much promoting. So, all in all my meeting was for nothing because I won't be signing a deal with them. However, it DID give me the motivation to search out other publishing firms to do something like this.
Oh, and I got the satisfaction of seeing that he really has aged MUCH more than I have. That did make me feel better, in a very selfish, obnoxious way.
Re: update on editor.
Good for you. I would have done the same.
As for the publishing house, there are a lot out there so keep looking uptil you find the one that fits.
Thanks for the update! I hope that you find the perfect publisher for you.

I'm surprised it took him so long to figure it out!
so sorry it isn't going to work out with his publishing firm and that you'll have to shop the idea around, but good luck on that!

How funny that it did turn out to be him, and wow it took him that long to figure it out.
Good luck finding another publisher!
Awe.some! It was definitely not for nothing! For one, it has totally entertained us (sorry!). Two, now you know for sure what you do and do not want in a publishing house.
Good luck!
