I don't know many people that their LO weaned suddenly like my DD. We went from BFing 3-4 times a day to nothing at all over the past few days. Well I have been pumping twice a day (morn and night) to relieve engorgement and giving her a bottle with BM and a little cow milk. I am slowly increasing the cow milk each day so that she will eventually be on just cow milk. Well even when I was BFing for the last 3-4 weeks I was replacing a session with cow milk but she would take a couple sips and not like it. Well she drank the bottles fine with a little cow milk (2 oz. cow milk with 4 oz. of BM) but this morning I upped the ratio to almost 1/2 cow milk 1/2 BM and she would not take more than a couple sips. I have tried putting chocolate syrup in there too and that doesn't help. I have tried sippy cups and bottles, she drinks less from a sippy. This has been hard and emotional because of the suddenness. Please help.

We switched to toddler formula, then to milk. We never put milk in a bottle, though, just a sippy. It also isn't a 1:1 ratio when you switch over. LO should get about 16oz of whole milk a day, and if you can't meet that then there are other foods that will make up the nutrients she is not getting from the milk. You can also do more yogurt and cheese.
Have you tried a better version of milk, or a different brand? Like from a local dairy or something that isn't ultra-pasturized?

We weaned from bf'ing around 8 months, so I have that emotional strain behind us. But, our transition to cow's milk from formula is not going well. The little guy won't drink more than a couple of sips of milk from the sippy at each meal. No way he is going to get 16 ounces of milk from a sippy anytime soon at this rate.
I discussed this issue with my pedi yesterday and LO's 12-month appointment. She was not at all concerned. She advised to drop the bottles cold turkey and continue to offer whole milk in the sippy at all meals. She said eventually his little body would crave milk badly enough that he will drink it from the sippy. In the meantime, she advised he only needs 16 ounces of milk and that yogurt and cheese can be used to replace the milk that he isn't getting quite yet. She really seemed not a bit concerned and that it would eventually happen. My little guy is only in the 6th percentile of weight and I'm overly concerned about him missing any nutrients. I'm going to keep giving the bedtime bottle of half formula/half whole milk until we finish this container of formula and then re-evaluate. I've dropped all other bottles, though.
Good luck to you!
