Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

SAHM's, do you ever just wish there was a...

help button? :(

DS is wearing me out, i'm sooo exaughsted.  Ever since he started walking a couple of months ago, I feel like I can't catch a break.  He's always into something he shouldn't be and I can't contain him without tantrums.  I know this is normal, but I just need a break.  I wish had friends or family who could help!

  • Oh yeah, all the time. My DH often suggests we put her in day care for a week for a vacation.

Its definitely the hardest job i've ever had!

  • Yes.  I actually work part-time for this reason.  It's a good mix of "me" time and making a few bucks while I'm at it.  PLUS he gets to be in daycare 2 days a week while I'm in the office (third day I work from home with him at home with me--that's tough!).  But he LOVES daycare--so it's a win win.

  • AMEN!  DD has been sooo busy lately.  She is mostly content to hang out in our playroom/livingroom area but after a few days of rain when we are trapped inside the only thing I can do is take her to the mall otherwise she is a little monster.  When the weather is nice we go to the park as often as possible.

One of the things I did with the baby proofed areas was made it so there were things she could discover, like a basket under the TV filled with old tv remotes (no batteries of course), or a basket of mis-matched socks.  I have a shelf of DVDs that she can reach and pull the dvds off if she wants.  It has made her very happy to discover things she thinks she isn't supposed to get into.  I change out what's in the baskets all the time too.

  • Definitely. Add 1st tri m/s and exhaustion on top of that, and I'm beat. DH works from home, so when he's not traveling he helps out at lunchtime and whatnot. Makes the day go by a little easier.

Oh my God, that scares me! We want another LO soon...and I didn't have a very easy pregnancy last time. I can't even imagine what's to come.

    Good luck!
