I'm going to register for one because we live in the desert and it's very dry here. DH and I have one in our bedroom and it helps with dry skin and noses. I saw some really cute animal-shaped humidifiers at BRU and we'll probably register for one of those.
i havent registered yet but when i do ill be registering for one..i have forced hot air in my house and it gets very dry. ill prob go with the cool mist!
I registered for a cool mist. The only reason I did it though was because I had to set up a WalMart registry since my family shower will be in a town where WM is the ONLY store, and I was trying to beef it up.

We live in CA where it's pretty dry. I wish I had registered for one; the first time DD got a cold (cough) we were out at the store trying to figure out what to get her. I would have much preferred to avoid that trip to BRU with a cranky, sick baby! We continue to use it when she's sick. We have a cool mist one.
We did, our home tends to stay a little on the dry side though. We have a cool mist in our room and registered for the same for LO. You could always wait and see if it is necessary after LO arrives if you are unsure whether or not you may need one
I have two, one cool mist and one not. Poor DD has allergies and picks up colds and such since starting preschool and she sleeps/feels sooo much better with them on. Where you live probably makes a big difference. It is swamp humid here in the summer but nosebleed dry here in the winter.
I really don't know much about these. Why do I need one? Also, if you have one, warm or cool mist?
TIA
I will not be registering for one because we already have too! I think they are great! Helps when sick or dry air in the house. I use one with my allergies!
Re: Did you register for a humidifier?
I will. DD used hers quite a bit when she was little. (Cool Mist)
