Anyone change due date on registry to get coupon sooner?

We didn't receive our stroller or car seat at the shower, so I want to use my Target completion coupon to buy them. Trouble is that I won't get the coupon until 4 weeks before my due date and then they may take 2-3 weeks to ship. I was thinking about going online to change the date to be sooner. Has anyone tried this trick?

    I changed mine a couple weeks ago from June 3 to May 3 so I can get mine. I still haven't received it!

    EDIT: I forgot to say mine was for BRU, not Target...

    Strangely (I say that because BRU told me I wouldn't receive it til 2 weeks before my edd) I received mine in the mail 2 weeks ago (at 34 weeks).  Quite honestly, I had so many 20% off coupons that people had given me, that the 10% completion discount really didn't matter to me all that much.

    I know you were talking about Target, but I wanted to also mention that i've noticed BRU seems weird about who gets what coupons and when.  I have friends who receive stuff in the mail all the time.  I am a BRU points member and a definate frequent shopper and I rarely get anything in the mail.

    I have not done it, but the girl who help setup our registry at Babies R Us told us we could change it to get the coupon and change it back.  The other girl we ordered the furniture with always gives us extra 20% coupons when we go...we love it there!

    The lady at BRU actually suggested we do this since we're having twins (and twins tend to come earlier..)

    That being said, I haven't actually changed it yet but may consider it after my 2nd shower next weekend - that way I don't think many people will be looking at it anymore. LOL - I just feel like if I change it sooner they will be like wait...I thought you were due in July??

    when I initially registered I did use a date that was 2 months off so that I could get the coupon sooner. Then I went in and edited it to my real due date after I had used the coupon
