2 weeks old.......and not sure if this is normal???

So DS is 2 weeks old and is fighting his sleep big time. On Sunday he didnt sleep all day. Finally went to bed at 1am that night. Today he slept a little in the morning, and will fall asleep for about 5 minutes and then wake up. Has anyone else had this happen to their baby? I know he is a little colicky and I have been giving him Mylicon drops. They work sometimes and sometimes they dont. And today he had an explosive diaper this morning that was like diarrhea and then shortly after that he vomitted about 2 ounces of the bottle that he had just drank. Tonight he will drink about 1/2 an ounce then fall asleep for about 10-15 minutes and then wake up and eat the rest. Does any of this seem normal for a 2 week old? Its been 7 years since I have had a little one like this and I am afraid that I am not seeing a sign of him being sick or if something is wrong with him. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    At that age, my kids would only take about 2 oz at a time, about every 2 hours.  And they spit up a lot. 

    Is he crying?  Will he sleep in the swing or if you hold him?

    He will sleep if I hold him, but sometimes he is just so wide awake he wont sleep at all. He varies in the amount of formula he will drink. It varies from 2-3 ounces. He has been eating quite a bit today.

    T was awake alot the day after she was born and she stayed awake alot from then on!  every newborn i had seen slept pretty easily. it took us over 2 months to realize that she needed help to go to sleep--that she needed to know it was ok to go to sleep.  she just couldn't seem to block out activities around her.  some babies just pass out and others need some routine or help to go to sleep (this is just my experience). sounds like your lo might need some encouragement or help going to sleep. you might have to wear him or rock him or hum with him against your chest. 

    we walked around the block with T every night to help her go to sleep--at least the first few months. 

    during the day, i wore her alot.
