I'm looking for a decent jogging stroller and considering the instep safari. Does anyone out there have it and do you like it?
I know the BOB Revo is the jogging stroller of choice but at $400+ (including seat adapter) I can't see spending the money.
I'm a casual jogger who would like to go 4-5 times a week for 2-3 miles at a time.
Re: Anyone have an inStep Safari?
Sorry to say, I had it and bought the BOB. I felt the same way as you about spending them money, but there were just things about it that drove me crazy and the BOB is awesome. The front wheel wobbled, the sun shade is super small, which I read about, but didn't realize was so important until I actually had a baby with sun constantly in his eyes. He would cry in the InStep, he sleeps the entire time in the Bob. It is honestly worth the money. Try craigslist or REI has 20% off a few times per year. I got ours there for $340.
The InStep would probably be ok if you locked the wheel in place for running, but if I had to go back I would have bought the BOB in the first place.
And also, you aren't supposed to jog with them in the car seat with adapter. I think I read 6 months is the first you should jog with them and by they they would be in the regular stroller seat. So you could get a cheap snap and go for the first few months. DS grew out of his infant seat by 4 months anyway so I wouldn't base your jogging stroller decision on the seat adapter.
