Pacifiers and BF babies

Do you use a particular pacificer with your LO? We're currently using soothie but we got a lot of various brands as shower gifts.
Did you stick with a certain brand because you were BFing (ie soothie or gumdrop since they're similar to a natural nipple) or did you use whatever you had?

Used what we had. In our case it was Nuk. He had a soothie in the hospital and we had nuk at home. He used both for a while, but eventually we just switched to nuk.

We started with the Avent brand, but after reading on here someone recommend the Nuk brand to cut down on gas, we switched. So far it seems to be true.

Soothie bc it's more like a natural nipple. LC said those were best because they force LO's tongue into the same position/shape as BF. Don't know if that's true or not but DD took the Soothie so we didn't mess w/ it.

We liked the Nuk ones the best.....DD never seemed to get a good "latch" on the soothies and the Nuk's are most like a breastfed nipple.

I've heard some people say that soothies are the best for BF babies, and I've heard other people say that Nuks are the best for BF babies, so who knows. I think it just comes down to what your LO likes. Mine takes the nuks; never liked the soothies.

DS never liked the soothies. We got Nuk at one of my showers and that's what he's always liked. I actually tried a few different brands, but he only likes Nuk.

We had a Soothie for DS that the hospital gave us. He took it off and on for the first 2-3 weeks. Then he refused any paci (we tried several kinds) until he was about 12 weeks old. I think the only reason he finally took to one is that it soothed him during a 4 day hospital stay after he had major surgery at that time. He started taking MAM pacis and he's been using them ever since.

my LO takes any kind of pacifier but he seems to be interested in the soothies for a bit longer than the others.

Zack uses Nuk mostly, since around four weeks. We had a couple Soothies, but it was too easy for him to knock them out of his mouth. Now, he'll stick pretty much anything in his mouth and if it stays -- pacifier!
