Help Needed - friends baby has spina bifida

Hi.  I am hoping that someone on this board can help me.  One of my closest friends just found out that her baby has Spina Bifida.  She is due in September and already has a 2 year old boy.  I want to get her something or do something to help her out.  Is there anything that anyone can suggest?  I have been talking to her whenever she needs it and have offered to watch her 2 year old whenever she needs a break.  I would love to get her something little just to let her know I am thinking about her.  I was thinking about getting her a journal so she can write down her feelings.  I can't even imagine what she is going through, but want to be there for her.  Thanks for any help you can give!

    First it's really nice you're this concerned and shows you're a true friend.  I think a journal is a great idea.  She's probably in overload right now and bringing over a meal or two is one of the nicest things you could do.   Don't be too surprised if she pulls away for a bit - it's a lot to take in. Be present in her life (keep calling) and don't be afraid to talk to her about her baby.
