T&P Request - plus questions

My co-worker is on her way to the hospital.  She discovered a blighted ovum at her 11 week appt last week and had decided to wait it out rather than have a d&c.  After going through 2 pads in an hour I made her call her DH and go to the hospital.  Ironically, this happened just after my own (2nd) m/c.  We had been so excited at being pg together. Sad

Just for my own information - if this happened to you (going to ER after trying to miscarry naturally), how did they handle it?  She's scared they are going to do surgery.  Any info would be helpful - I'm not going to relay it to her, I'm just worried.

    I'm so sorry you and your friend are going through this.  I don't really have much advice since I was able to miscarry my blighted ovum naturally.  I know many women on here have had the D&C and said it was very simple so hopefully even if she has the surgery it will be ok.  T&Ps.

     

    Natural BFP - 2/13/10, Natural M/C - 3/9/10 (Missed m/c found at 8wks 4days) Prenatal B/W shows I'm a Beta Thal carrier & so is DH. Onto IVF w/PGD...     Oh no...I'm so sorry your co-worker is going through this as well :(  I didn't go to the ER after trying to miscarry naturally, but I did have a D&C for my first miscarriage and it was a very quick and easy procedure (physically).  She'll be in my T&Ps.

    I landed myself in the ER after spewing blood and tissue from my hooha and having the worst contractions imaginable (don't know if it's "normal" but it was like I was actually in labor with the pain and very regular, very strong contractions).  When I went to the ER they did a curettage.  It's basically a cleaning out process without the surgery of a d&c.  The used a tong like thing to just pull out as much tissue as they could get to.  The rest of the tissue, I passed later at home (am still passing occasional clots and having some very light bleeding after 2w1d).

    I am so sorry for both you and your co-worker.  In the peaceful, happy world I have concocted in my head, people like us don't even exist.  There is no pregnancy loss and there is no hurt of loosing a child.  I'm sorry that my peaceful, happy world is not our reality.
