We just moved DS to a toddler bed for the start of the night. It's been really easy so I guess he was ready. He's welcome to come in to us whenever he wants and he does at around 1 or 5 (not sure what makes the difference in time but it's either of those 2 times).
I know Miles just comes in himself to your bed right? How did you encourage that? DS wakes and cries and I'd love for him to just come in instead of getting upset. Maybe it's an age thing? He was 2 in June.
Re: Cleokitty or anyone who p/t cosleeps
Ava starts the night in her todder bed and comes in my room at about 2-3. We never said anything and she just automatically started coming in. Lately she brings EVERY thing she can carry (blanket, pillow, lovie, sock monkey etc)
I think after a few more days he will get it and just wake up and come in.
we did not co-sleep with Ethan, but when we moved him from his crib to his big twin bed, he was doing the same thing. he'd wake up and call me over.
We usually close the door to his room (and our room now since the baby is with us and may wake him), but at some point I left it open and I guess he saw it and got up and came to our room. He started doing it consistently from then on.
Maybe show him he can get up and walk to your room on his own any time?
Sam just wanders in when she wants to around 2-3am. I agree, just walk him to your room and tell him it's ok to do it himself if he wants to. If you have a tall bed, maybe have him put his own stepstool there so he can climb in more easily. We also have a little travel pillow that's HER pillow for our bed.
