Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Seriously not trying to AW, but am I the only one? (body related)

I'm roughly 2lbs over pre-preg weight, but my body is more or less the same.  My tummy looks normal and I only have very faint stretch marks.  I don't feel like my hips got any wider or anything like that.  The only thing that looks wonky is my belly button, where the piercing area got all stretched out.

That being said, I still need to lose 10-ish lbs, but that's right where I was before I got pg.  Anyone else with me?

  • This is totally me.  I need to lose about 8 pounds but it is all in my belly.  If I wear dresses people tell me I look skinnier than when I was pregnant; which I am convinced is all an illusion.  My jeans still don't fit but everythng else does.  My belly button is messed up too!  Also, I still have the line; I forgot what you call it but it runs down my belly pasted my belly button.  It has gotten lighter but it is definatley still there.

  • I'm not. I feel like my stomach is in decent shape compared to what it was as far as flatness. I know that some sit-ups would help out, but as far as stretch marks...they're pretty visible. I do also feel like my hips got a little wider.

  • I am not going to AW anything having to do with my body, probably not ever, but I was fat before I got pregnant and guess what, I'm still fat.  Not a whole lot of changes after either of my babies.  My bod is pretty much the same as it was before I got pregnant.  A few stretch marks, but who cares.  It's not like I'm ever going to wear a bikini Smile
  • This is me too! Only my boobs also look totally different-- they're either full and huge or look a little floppy when they're empty. That's the only thing I miss, having my nice perky B-cups.

  • I've been at my pre-preg weight since my 6 week visit.  My body pretty much looks the same as it used to.  I don't think i'm special or anything, it's all because i had gestational diabetes so i was on a very restricted diet. As much of a pain as it was when i was pregnant, i am SO happy i fit into all my work clothes!

Ahh yes, I lied, I forgot about my nasty boobs.  They're a cup size bigger but now require a supportive bra to look good.  Dammit, I'd almost forgotten about that part of my body!

  • DH swears I look exactly the same. My belly probably does look the same (size wise) as pre-preg. Even when I weighed 117 when I got pregnant, I had a bit of a belly. I think I just notice it more now.

I swear DH and I are looking at two different people when I see myself in the mirror.

  • I'm at my prepregnancy weight. But my stomach has enough fat on it I still look 4 months pregnant or so. People still ask me when I'm due. I've always carried most of my weight in my belly. Sucks.

  • I would ideally like to be 130 but I started at 135 pre-preg, but very toned...seriously I had like zero body fat! (Not bragging, just a comparison to how I am  now).  I'm now 134, so 1 lb less than pre-preg.  The only difference is my empty looking boobs & I'm not as toned as I was, but I'm working on that.

I'm good with how I look after only 4 months post preg

  • The last time I weighed myself (which was probably close to a month ago now), I was still up 6 lbs. from my pre-pregnancy weight. None of my clothes fit like they used to and I just feel that I look "soft" (ie. pudgy) all over. I was slightly overweight when I became pregnant and now I just feel gross. I've tried really hard to lose the baby weight, but I hit a plateau in February and haven't lost more than 2 lbs. since.

I think my body hates me Crying

  • Me too, except I didn't get one stretch mark. I am -3 from pre pregnancy and my boobs are bigger (which I hate. Why can't I just be a C cup?)

I always felt I was 10-15 lbs over my rockin' body ideal so I consider I have 10 lbs to go.

I am just waiting for the linea nigra to go 100% away.

  • Me! I have now made it through two babies with not a single stretch mark, and I am now about 7 lbs away from my pre pg size 2 clothes.. Yay!!

The only thing that changed is my belly button.  It's almost like a half outie now... oh well!

What do you do/say when they ask you? Are they at least embarrassed?

  • I lost all the baby weight by 3 months (thank you breastfeeding!).  Because of DS's milk and soy protein intolerance, I will likely drop below my pp weight since I can't eat any processed foods and can't find much that sits well with DS.  And the only stretch marks I ever got were a few small ones at the top of each thigh (thighs were always my problem area).  So size-wise, I'm happy to be back in my regular clothes.  But my boobs are floppy when empty and my stomach isn't as toned as I would like (in fact, most of my body isn't toned enough -- note to self, start working out again finally).

  • Yep.  Right there with you.  I looked pretty much the same as I did pre-pg 2 weeks pp.  No stretch marks; still have the linea negra though.

I think I might actually weigh less now than I did pp...I've lost a lot of muscle tone since I haven't been working out at all.

My belly looks different to me though (no one else would ever notice).  It was flat as a board and now it's a little poochy.

  • me me me!

no extra weight to lose. no strech marks. my booty is bigger now Smile which is a great thing. my only sucky thing is my belly button.

  • Yep, I lool the exact same, weight and all. I didn't even get any stretch marks! I had hosptal bedrest and tons of PTL starting from 29 weeks so thats the ONE thing that was easy about my pregnancy! Back to a size 2 in a month!!!! Thank you BFing! Stick out tongue

  • I am a pound or so lighter that I was PP. I never got any stretchies, thank you Mom. But, my body is not the same. I have never really had a tummy, but now I do. I lost a ton of muscle mostly, and I think that is why my body is so different.

  • I feel so lucky but this is me, too.  I gained 40 lbs with my twin pregnancy and have lost it all and although I had a stretch mark or two that came up after I delivered, they have since faded and I can't see them.

  • I have lost my pregnancy weight plus a pound or two.  My tummy is basically flat (not totally, if I exercised I could get it flatter but I am not an exerciser) and I am in all my pre-preg pants, even my skinny ones.  I didn't get any tummy or hip stretch marks.  My only complaint is that I got stretch marks on my breasts, which went from a b cup to a full d cup when my milk came in.  Jumping 2 or more cup sizes in a few days is not good for the skin :(  I am hoping they will fade soon.  I also have the weird belly-button from my piercing that I am hoping will go away over time.  Overall, I think I got off pretty easily.

  • I still have about ten lbs. to lose to get down to my PP weight, but in a lot of ways I'm pretty excited about my new body.  Before I became pregnant, I was a size 2, but my body was kind of weird; I had a booty and boobs, but really narrow hips.  I didn't look like a size 2 at all just because my proportions were odd and didn't make me look tiny.  Now, I'm a size 4 because my hips are a little wider, but overall I think my body looks so much better; the proportions just make more sense on my frame.   I still have a bit of a pooch and need to tone up and lose those last pounds my BFing body is stubbornly hanging onto, but for the most part I feel like I'm better off.

  • I look more or less the same as pre-pregnancy. I weigh the same and was lucky to avoid getting any stretch marks.

I'm less toned, but that's not surprising since I haven't worked out in ages.

  • I am about 10 lbs less than pre preg and with clothes on look fine.  However, my tummy still has the pouch and I have massive stretch marks.  Even with the weight loss I do not fit into my prepreg clothes nicely.
