I was on Atavan pre-pregnancy as needed (not every day). I hadn't been taking them for awhile before becoming pregnant and didn't start once I got the BFP.
BUT
Then I had random anxiety attacks in the middle of the night twice in a row, and was anxious all the time for about two weeks. When I spoke to my psych he said to go ahead with the atavan as needed. It is a class C drug (risk vs benefit), and if it was that bad for me, I needed to take care of it.
Luckily it turned out that I was carb starving myself due to GD, so I haven't had to take them yet, but it was good to know that it was an option if I needed it.

Before I was pg I had an Rx for Klonopin in case I got a panic attack but I very rarely took them. And I haven't taken them while pg.
But I am on Celexa, it's a category C but it helps with depression and anxiety. I cut down to a very low dose. I think you and your doctor both have to be on the same page when it comes to these meds. My Dr. said he has had plenty of patients on this med and it doesn't bother him that i'm on it.
