Need Opinions on Bedding

(Posted this on August boards, too, but I need all the opinions I can get!)

So, I am having a lot of trouble finding bedding that I think would look good in our espresso-colored crib. So a couple of questions:

FYI: We're Team Blue.

1. What colors do you think go well with espresso cribs?

2. How closely do you think the browns in the bedding should match the dark brown wood? And would a color described as "chocolate" work well?

 3. Anyone know of a great turquoise/brown bedding set?

3. If you have an espresso crib bedding, would you like to share your picture?!?

Thanks. I'm just feeling really overwhelmed with the choices, and nothing has really caught my eye. So I'm asking the experts!

  • That isn't the best pic, but the blue on the bedding looks like the blue on the letters...I don't know why it didn't show up very good.

I think you need to look at the crib as a neutral piece in the nursery - any bedding will look good with a dark word crib (unless it has black in it but that may still look nice).

I wish I could help but I'm having a girl and never really looked at boy bedding.

  • I don't really think the brown in bedding needs to match the brown wood. Our master bedroom has an all wood bed that is light brown but the bedspread has dark brown accents.
  • Any pastel color will go really well with an espresso finish - light blues, sage greens, etc.  I think even a mocha color would look great.  And I agree w/PP that the crib is really a neutral - anything you pick will look great.  Don't sweat the details TOO much!

  • Thanks for the suggestions! I think you guys are correct about the crib being a "neutral" piece. I'll keep that in mind. I just have a poor eye for matching these things.

The other problem is that I like more "baby-like" beddings, with animals, etc. However, the colors that I like tend to be a part of more "mod", simple bedding....

    Hmmm, thanks for the help!

  • Very cute bedding! Is it like a baby blue or a light turquoise? Maybe I need to rethink my thoughts on baby blue...
