I really want to take a childbirth class so I have an idea of what to expect. But I have a stupid job with stupid hours (that often change at the drop of a hat) that I have to stay at until pretty much my due date (8/29). All of the classes I've found are during hours that I work, and they're like 6-8 weeks long, so it's not like I could even just take a day off work to go to one class or wait until after I go on maternity leave.
Does anyone know of someplace on the north side (I live in Ravenswood) that would let me schedule a private childbirth class during a time when I AM free? (Or know of any that take place on Saturday?) Even if it's only a 1 day seminar, it would still be better than flying blind.
Re: Private childbirth classes?
My DH and I had a private class led by a RN who works at CDH in labor/delivery. She was great. We actually went to her house in Geneva. I know you live in the city so that might be a little far for you. Let me know if you are interested and I can give you her information.

i take prenatal yoga there and i know that Jenny (the owner) offers a Comfort Measures class. i think it only goes for 1 day, but i'm not sure.
Thanks, ladies. It never occurred to me to check my own hospital for classes (duh). Swedish Covenant has all day saturday classes as well and since I'm delivering there the $40 fee is waived. Huzzah!
Thanks again!
