Babies: 9 - 12 Months

6 months-how many ounces/feeding?

Ok, so my DD has always been somewhat of a fussy eater, but lately she has decreased how many ounces she is drinking at one time.  She was typically drinking 5 ounces at a time, now it is 3 here, 2 there and so on. I don't want to set her up for bad eating habits of snacking- but I certainly can't force her either.

Just wondering if anyone else has this?

Thanks!

  • DS also gets solids.  Here is his schedule that he has been on since around 5 months old.

    6:15- 6oz bottle, 3 TBSP cereal

    10- 7oz bottle

    12:30- 7oz bottle

    3:00- 7 oz bottle

    6:00- 3 TBSP cereal, 6oz veggie

    8:30- 4 oz bottle

  • Right, that is what everyone and every book says she should be eating and that she should take it all at once, but she isn't...

  • My DD is going to be 7 months on Monday but she has always been a fussy bottle taker. She now gets 4 bottles a day and then range from 4-6 ounces, sometimes even less with her bedtime bottle. She also gets 3 meals of solids a day and actually had a snack at daycare yesterday. She eats what she is hungry for and I'm not worried at all as she is growing as she should be and hitting all the milestones and such. Some kids are just not big eaters and you are not setting her up for bad habits. Your DD will let you know when she wants to eat.  I offer DD a bottle every 4 hours unless she asks for it more often.  She has her meals in between that.
