Failed my 1 hour glucose. =(

Crying

I was a 158.

Anybody fail at that level and pass the 3 hour?  I'm supposed to "carb load" for the next 2 days, and fast after midnight on Wednesday.

Re: Failed my 1 hour glucose. =(

  • I've known quite a few women who "failed" the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour with no problem. I wouldn't get to worked about it.

I never had to take the 1-hour test (so no experience with the 3 hour), but from what I hear the most annoying part is waiting around for 3 hours.   I'm sure you'll be fine.

  • I don't remember what my numbers were, but I failed the first one and passed the second.  One thing that was recommended to me was to walk around in between the blood draws.  I just did laps around the building.  Also, bring a snack to eat afterwards.  Oh, and plenty of water.  Good luck!

  • I hear that people pass the 3 hour all the time after failing the first.  Good luck!
  • Oh bummer! I believe there are several girls here who failed 1 but passed 3.

  • meeee. I failed my 1-hr with that exact score, I think, and passed my 3-hr. GL!
    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • I failed the one hour and passed the 3 hour.  Although, I don't know my scores, they never told me.

I do have to warn you though, the 3 hour was HORRIBLE for me.  The drink was dis.gust.ing, I seriously *almost* vomited.  It was literally like drinking orange flavored syrup, but I dislike both syrup and orange flavored things.  For my test I had to fast all night and all through my 3 hours, no water or anything (my appointment was at 9am).  I could only take small sips of water during my test "enough to 'wet your whistle'" was what they told me.

    Good luck ***glucose test dust***

  • Well, crap.  :(

I failed the 1 hour with DS (160 something), then failed the 3 hour (2 of the 4 draws) and had GD.  I failed the 1 hour with DD (170?) and declined the 3 hour because it was boring and miserable.  We just assumed I had GD since I'd had it before.

The good news is, even if you have it, you can eat chicken tacos.  Protein!  ;)  You probably won't have it, though.  I know a lot of people who have failed the 1 hour and passed the 3.

Huh.  They told me to drink as much water as I could and even showed me where I could fill up my water bottle with filtered water.

Gosh, I wish.  I had that horrible taste in my mouth for a good hour.  I guess Scott and White is really picky.

  • I failed my 1 hour and passed my 3 hour....TWICE!  Good thoughts!

    ***Pass the test dust***

  • Yup! I failed at the same rate. I didn't have to carb load but I was told to eat a candy bar, slice of cake or drink a full calorie soda for each day leading up to the test. Then the day of the test I drank water during the test. I passed. :) Good luck!!
