She continued to get sick even after the 1-hour timepoint of when her anti-nausea meds should have kicked in, and that continued all night and into this morning. I had her back there right when they opened this morning, and while her fever was down a little she was dehydrated from throwing up so much.
They did an x-ray and found a blockage in her intestines... assuming it's a large hairball... and her intestines are inflamed, possibly due to the fever she is running. I had to leave her there and they are giving her sub-q injections of fluids to rehydrate her as well as a steroid shot to deal with the inflammation... and reglan to move it through and help her to hopefully pass it.
The vet called me back just a little while ago to update me that she hasn't gotten sick there at all, which is either due to the meds working or her just being so nervous/stressed out. She said she'd like to keep her overnight to see if she starts vomiting overnight when it's darker/quieter there. I hope she really is better and can come home tomorrow, and avoid surgery completely... that seems to be the next step if this doesn't work out.
I am dreading the bill that this is going to bring, but that is completely secondary to my little Lucy getting better. Thanks for all the thoughts, just wanted to give an update. I should get another update in the morning, and hopefully leave work early to pick her up in early afternoon.
