I have always said that we are going to have 3 kids just like we have our 3 dogs. I also predict we will have 2 girls and 1 boy just like our dogs as well.
I know this is silly but I totally see this working out. Anyone have any personal experience or have ever felt the same?
Our animals are like our children, so maybe that's why we feel like this...
Sorry if you think I have totally lost it...But I can assure you I did NOT feel the baby moving at 12 wks! ![]()
Re: Ratio of fur-baby gender to your LO's gender...
hahaha I always say how my poor husband and my pit Leo have to put up with 3 bitches!
My husband and Leo are so much alike and the girls and I are the same too, I hope for Leo and my husband's sake that we bring some more testosterone into the home!!!
HA I have never thought of this.
We have two kitties, Luke and Leia (boy and a girl). So one of us will be outnumbered once little one arrives ...
I have one dog, boy. 1 cat, boy and I'm having a boy and he'll be an only child.
I guess we are holding true
We have two girl dogs and 2 stepsons and 1 unknown on the way.
I don't see us getting any more dogs though. They are house dogs (very much our children like you said) and there just isn't room. If they were smaller maybe, but Mara is a 100 mastiff and I think she counts as double. Cede is just 16 pounds, I could see having 3 of her alone, but not with the big one.
Yea, the order of the sex may not be the same so you might have a little girl one day and somehow another dog or 2 may just fall into your lives. That is exactly what happened with us!
LOL
Funny to think about though!
yep, you've lost it.
we have one "furbaby" boy and we are expecting a boy.
We have three dogs and I would only like two kids.
For our dogs, we have two males and one female.
I'm sorry LCB, but maybe it truly hasn't...You have a little miracle baby girl on the way, and maybe one day you will be surprised by what your life truly may present to you. I have seen it with my own eyes. I myself have been the ONLY female that has not been faced with IF thankfully. My dad was adopted due to his mother being infertile for about 6 years! After his adoption she fell pg twice after...
Crazier things have happened...
However I can totally agree with you when you say I sound crazy..I myself think it is crazy to think about, however the emotional attachment we have with our dogs totally makes me think crazy things like this!
Um, please don't try to fill me with BS on a subject that you haven't personally experienced. And please, don?t comment on my fertility when you don?t know the details about my diagnosis.
You really just crossed the line with that - intentional or not, you should not have said any of what you just did.
I will never have another child b/c the disease I have requires that I have my uterus be CUT OUT in the next few years. I have lost 3 babies in a matter of 6 months which has messed with me in ways someone that has not experienced that kind of loss cannot fathom. I will never have another child b/c as I mentioned I will physically be unable in about 2.5 years and because mentally, I will never be strong enough to put myself in a position of possibly losing another baby while I still have a uterus to hold a baby.
Please stop trying to make comments about something which you know nothing of - I promise, it doesn't help. It is just another reminder that some ignorant person finds the need to tell me to be happy with the baby I have and hope for an unrealistic future for my family.
Conceding to your point, you constantly bring it up so I'm just commenting merely on your context..not on you personally..
btw...I'm not telling you to be thankful or happy for what you have, I'm just saying how GREAT it is that after all you have been through (as you have said numerous time) that you have a baby girl on the way and I applaud your perseverance because my "personal" experience on the issue far exceeds ignorance on both ends of the spectrum...trust me!
If it's not too late to comment...
My husband and I decided that we would never be "outnumbered" in our house by pets. We have a full time dog and we foster ONE rescue dog at a time (sadly, will have to stop that when the baby comes because the foster dogs are not necessarily good with babies). Will also not get a new dog because I dont think I'd be able to dedicate the time to training it until the kids are older. Meanwhile, my full time dog is GREAT with children. I can't wait to se what she's like when she has her "own" child in the house.
In passing, has anyone heard the old wives' tale that your first child is the opposite gender of your dog? My friend was telling me that the other day.
And in response to this..I will be required to have a full hysterectomy after the birth of my child, for reasons I do not want to get into on here, so if you would like to PM me about it you may...but I myself am not relying on my uterus for the "future of my family".
Never heard it before, however, what if you have more than one? Does it say your first will be the opposite gender of your first dog or of your oldest dog?
I constantly bring what up? I have mentioned multiple times that this will be my only pregnancy due to medical reasons. And I have every right to talk about my IF as it is a HUGE part of me and makes up who I am today and I struggled for two years to get to this point.
I don't need someone to remind me how lucky I am to be here - I am thankful every day for this blessing. But that doesn't mean I also don't mourn my losses and what I will never have (more children) every day as well.
And yes, it is ignorant for you to tell me that "maybe one day I will be surprised by what my life may truly present to me" - in reference to having more children.
Until you know EXACTLY what I am dealing with - you should NEVER comment on what will happen with my life. That statement was very rude and very ignorant. Also, unless you have dealt with infertility, you would not realize how hurtful what you said really is - that is why I called you ignorant.
And now you are going to be condescending b/c I am not looking to adoption to grow my family? Really? Wow - you suck.
I don't care to know the state of your uterus nor do I care what you plan to do with your family. And because of that, I don't go walking around telling people they may be surprised with what life brings them when I don?t have the slightest clue what is going on in their life.
You are a real piece of work.
Hahaha you rock! Is this the first OWT that has been right for you? Hahaha..I love how excited you are about growing a penis! That is classic!
Just trying to be positive in a shitty situation..since I'm in one..GL to you LCB!
Way to try to be a victim here...
Oyyyyy
LOVE this!
2 fixed male cats, one (refuses to ever get fixed DH
) and Me, slowly evening the numbers with a soon to be DD.
Do the old wives have any saying for cats a gender?
We have: 2 horses- both male, and 2 dogs- 1 male 1 female. And we are having a little boy.
You and your puppy are going to really be outnumbered!! We have two dogs, a boy and a girl and our 'first born' was our boy. So we shall see!
I have no idea what the details of the OWT was. My friend was just telling me she had a boy dog (and a girl), that her college roommate had a girl dog (and a boy) and pointing out that my parents had a boy dog when they had me.... so therefore, I'll be having a boy.
I don't necessarily believe any of it.
