Hi everyone! I am 18 weeks pregnant and first felt my baby move a couple of weeks ago. It is a very faint feeling and doesnt happen every day and i know that is normal based on how far along I am. But I usually feel the baby at least every 3rd day. Well, it has been a week since i last felt anything and i was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or should I be concerned. I asked the Dr a few days ago and she said it was normal to not feel the baby for a few days, but a week seems like too long to me. Thank for your feedback.
Re: havent felt my baby move in a week
If you asked your Dr and she said it was normal then why are you asking a bunch of interent strangers?? We aren't Drs.
But yes, it is normal this early to not feel anything for a while.
This. I feel a lot of movement but im not worried when Its not constant. LO isn't big enough for me to feel EVERY SINGLE movement she makes. Or she is just sleeping.
My BFP Chart
I think she was just looking for a little reassurance, not a diagnosis.
How far away are you from week 19? I will just say this, everyone is different. If this is your first pg then you may not feel constant movement for another couple weeks, but if you're truly worried, explain to your doctor that this is an issue that is bothering you. He/She should not have a problem with looking into it. I know how you feel bc once you feel those little flutters, you expect that feeling all the time. It is normal, at 18 weeks not to feel anything actually. With my first I was 22 weeks before I felt any constant movement. DO what your body tells you is best. Worrying isnt good for you or the baby. GL!!
Like PPs have said, don't worry!! When I felt LO for the first time, I didn't feel him again for days. My doc has also said that our LO's are less active when going through a growth spurt.

Yea seriously, sheesh! I love the, "Why are you asking a bunch of strangers" comment on a pregnancy FORUM!
OP: It can also have a lot to do with position of baby, and your size as well. At 19 weeks is when I REALLY started to feel movement, and some days it moves way more than others. Also, as one PP said, you may not be noticing the movements because of how small they are. It could be moving a lot during a time when you are really active.
I think you are fine, don't worry!
ames17...thank you SO much for understanding. Yes, that is exactly what i was looking for, reassurance. Not a diagnosis. i appreciate your support.
THIS. Well said, Max.
Seems to me like a DOCTOR's word would be far more reasurring than internet strangers'. Unless of course you have a shiity doctor and don't trust them in which case you need a new doctor. If she hadn't already asked her doctor she wouldn't have gotten that comment.
Her comment, as well as others you may or may not receive when you continue to post here, are not worth your time to respond.
You got some really great input from some great girls, I myself of course...
.
I would take them into consideration and just let the rest of the crappy comments go. Reallllyyyy not worth it!

Just my personal experience, I felt movement first around 17 weeks, but it would be very sporadic, and would be nothing to go days or a whole week with nothing. Early 20s, it was more days than not, and around 23ish weeks, I would feel something daily. Just had a 26 week appt and was told to look for something every day, and won't start kick counts til week 32.
That said, if you have a history of problems, and you feel something isn't right, call the doc right away. Sounds normal to me, but I would call it in too.
This!
