I am getting really excited about the shower I'm hosting for BFF! First of all, because I will be going to Atlanta for the weekend (kid free) and will get to spend alot of time with her...and she is going to take me and the other hostess out for a nice dinner and to a chocolate buffet as a thank you, but also because I just think the shower itself is gonna be pretty awesome (if I do say so myself!) LOL!
Thanks to Candi's suggestion, we will be making korker bows at the shower. I've been working on preparing the ribbons for them all weekend. I think everyone will have fun making them and it goes perfectly with our wardrobe theme.
We are also doing a clothesline where we will hang up all the outfits she receives. I think it will be so cute when everything is hung up & it couldn't be any more perfect for our theme.
For the favors, we ordered iced sugar cookies in the shapes of onesies and baby shoes. They will be individually wrapped for each guest to take one as they leave.
We also asked everyone to bring her a children's book in lieu of a greeting card, and to sign the inside of the book. My hostesses did this for me at my first shower and it was great because it provided so many great books for Haley and it was cool to see the notes people wrote inside of them everytime we read them.
I'm also really stoked about the food! The other hostess is making chocolate covered strawberries and punch, and I am making:
Fruit Kabobs with Poppy Seed Dip
Caprese Skewers
Spinach Phyllo Triangles
Cheese Wafers (these are like cheese straws, but in wafer form)
BLT Dip with Bagel Chips
Smoked Salmon Tea Sandwiches
Cheesecake Bombs
We will be using all white dishes and serving ware.
We also order flower arrangements and a pin-on flower for her to wear.
Okay, wow this was LONG! Sorry about that! I told you I was excited! LOL! Is there anything I'm forgetting?
Re: Excited about the Shower I'm hosting next weekend!
Sounds AWESOME! I tried asking my hostesses to ask guests to bring a book instead of a card and they couldn't figure out how to convey that message - any advice???
Before we know it, we will be planning YOUR shower !!!
