Book recommendations?

Or websites.

What are the best books out there?  From labor, to new borns to attachment parenting to raising health, happy children?

I've heard of The happiest baby on the block and the Sears' books... but are they the best - which others should I add to my list?

TIA

Re: Book recommendations?

  • I would read a variety of books and decide for yourself what the best ideas from them are.

The No-Cry Sleep Solution was good. I also liked reading Ferber's sleep book. I never did CIO with DS, but it was very informative and I learned a lot about sleep habits and cycles from it. I also read Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child, but that one stressed me out quite a bit. Obviously we had sleep issues.

I also like the Ask Moxie blog. Really good information on there, IMO.

Again, the "best" is kind of subjective, so if you have time now go to your local library and check a bunch of books out to see what you think of them. GL!

ETA: For dealing with kids as they get older, I'd also recommend Kids Are Worth It and How to Talk so Kids Will Listen and Listen so Kids Will Talk.

Thanks for those suggestions. Yes, "best" is subjective - I probably should have worded it "what books did YOU feel were best"... I'm just looking for other's input and suggestions.  That's it!

    Thanks!
