I'm ready to start planting my garden in the next week or so. It's been really warm here already, but I generally like waiting until the beginning of May just to be cautious- never know when you're going to get a late freeze/frost!
Anyhow, now I have to decide what to plant. I do square foot gardening with two raised beds that are each 4 X 4. So, basically I have 32 spots for planting plus about 8-10 large pots that I use for container gardening.
Trying to decide what I want this year. I'll do the usual tomatoes, peppers, basil, zucchini, squash, green beans and cucumbers but want to try a few new things too.
What are you growing this year?
Re: Vegetable gardeners: what are you growing this year?
this is dh's forte not mine. I know he's doing tomatoes, peppers, cukes and is trying pumpkins this year....I know there is more but not sure exactly what.
I do NOT have a green thumb whatsoever lol
I love to do peas and green beans- they are very fruitful.
Man, I miss my garden!

I have a small 8'x8' garden that's already been taken over by my strawberries. Is it safe to start planting in May? This will be my 3rd year, so I'm still pretty clueless.
I'm planning to do tomatoes, serrano peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, basil, and cilantro again. When I've tried bell peppers in the past, I never got more than 1-2 peppers total. Green beans I'd end up with a handful.
I don't really have room for a whole lot more, and since DH is picky and doesn't really eat vegetables, they're mainly just for me.

We also are doing the Square Foot Garden and I already have stuff planted and coming up in the first one. The blackberries and asparagus are in a 2x4 box. The other two are 4x4.
Roma and grape tomatoes, red bell peppers, carrots, cukes, sugar snap peas, chives, basil, dill
Mostly started from seeds inside. ?We'll see what survives.
