I only ask because DH has work meetings Thursday that he can't miss so I am driving myself. My doc called in some perscription main med too, and I've only heard you ladies suggest taking a motrin so I'll have to look at it when I pick it up this afternoon if it's suggested you don't opperate machinery. Also they were not able to schedule it for the days I had off so we went for best option. It's at 9am and I work at 4:30pm. I figure worst case, I can call in sick but I hope that so many hours later I'd be OK.
So...did you drive? Or feel if you were taken that you could have driven yourself if needed?
Re: Did you drive yourself to HSG?
I didn't drive myself because DH was off work with me. But I totally could have driven myself. However, I didn't take any pain meds.
Good luck!

I can't wait for the "im getting a divorce" post in 5 years or so because your husbands were fed up with your disgusting chair asses from playing on the knot all day and getting fired 4-5 times for not doing any work. you guys are all winners!! ~ Laur929
I drove myself to the HSG and I was fine. I took four advil an hour before the HSG and although the procedure was a little painful (for just a minute!), I didn't have any cramping or anything afterwards.
I think you should be ok by 4:30. Can you go home and take a nap before work? That might help (although when doesn't a nap help?!)
Good luck!
I drove myself because my DH couldn't get out of work and it was completely fine. My RE didn't prescribe any pain med. She only had me take 3 advil prior to the procedure. I went to work later that night and it was fine too. I had some minor cramping but it was no worse than AF cramps.
You may want to check with your RE to see if that pain med is for after the procedure in case the cramping get bad or if you are to take it prior to the procedure. I have never heard of pain meds being prescribed.

I was prescribed an antibiotic and pain med as well. I think it's just precautionary. With an HSG, there is a slight risk of infection even with sterile equipment.
I haven't had my HSG yet, but I plan on driving myself since it's in another city and DH can't get the time off work.
Baby #2 on the way!
HAHA...this is me exactly! I did end up going to work after; appt was at 8am and I went in after lunch.
