Has anyone ever tried Weight Watchers?

UgGg.. I am in this funk..I don't like dieting and I don't have the time I want/need to workout right now. WW is having free registration right now and I have heard many great things about the program and I would like to try something that would be encouraging for me. How did you like it? Did you have quick results and was it easy to keep off? Thanks :)

Re: Has anyone ever tried Weight Watchers?

  • You won't have quick results because it's a healthy lifestyle change and not a diet. You can expect to lose 1-2.5 lbs a week, probably closer to 1 since you don't want to exercise. I am down 15lbs on it so far.

The weight will stay off as long as you keep following the program.

  • Like the PP it is definitely more of a lifestyle change. I really think that it is teaching my how to eat right. I consistently lose 1-2 per week but if you follow it right you won't lose much more than that.

  • I am currently doing WW and having great success with it.  I actually did see quick results and lost 5 lbs in the first week, but I know that's not typical so you shouldn't expect that much.  If you stick with it, you will lose weight.  I have lost about 23 lbs so far.  I'm in kind-of a rut right now, but am having no problem maintaining where I'm at weight-wise.  I've held steady at the same weight for 3 weeks.  Even though I'm not at my goal just yet, I had to take a break from point-counting because I was burned out.  I plan to get back in the swing of things next week. I have only gained weight once since I started in Feb. and even then it was only a pound.  I really like it.

  • I am currently doing weight watchers and really like it.  It is flexible and you can eat what you want.  The other nice thing is that you can enter your own recipes and it will tell you how many points are for each portion. I do everything on line and have had success.  I don't have time to go to meetings, but I have heard they are helpful.  I did the program right before I got pregnant and lost 30lbs in 3 months.  Since i started back on the program last month I have lost 13 lbs.  I think it helps you have a healthier way of eating and makes you think about portion sizes.
  • I love WW. Both my mom and I have had previous success with it and I'm doing it again now to lose baby weight. The results aren't super quick, but they can be long lasting and healthy. It's a lifestyle change, so you learn what foods provide the most energy and keep you full, proper portion sizes, and it definitely encourages healthy eating. It's nice because you can still eat the things you want, you just have to account for them. I think it's a very effective program, but it does take dedication.?

  • i agree! i lost 30 lbs and managed to keep i off for 5 years, until i got pregnant and have since gained 40lbs. i want to start back on WW but cant seem to get motivated.
  • Yes.  I had a lot of success with WW a few years ago when I went to the meetings every week and really counted my points.  The key for me was going to the meetings.  I didn't do quite as well when I did the online WW.

Yeah, I think the meetings are really important. I'm sure some people can have success without them, but they do say that those who attend lose 30% more weight.?
