I need to keep busy...but how?

Im being induced Wednesday and having a baby this week is all I can think about. I really need something to take my mind off of it but there is nothing left to do. We are ready. Im also not working and everyone else I know is. Any suggestions?

  • I know what you mean. I am still working, but I have a feeling this is going to be the least productive week ever. If baby doesn't come this week, I don't think I'm coming to work next week.
  • No but if you find out let me know. I have been playing cards lol and reading what to expect the first year. It is really interesting. I might go buy a puzzle in the theme of the nursury and do it glue and hang it up. I am willing to try anything to take my mind off of LO.
  • I was going to say, go for a walk.  Go take a book and have coffee.  Or - browse titles at Barnes & Nobles and skim the new books while sipping a latte -

walk the mall to people watch.  Buy any last minute baby/house prep items.  Window shop for good sales and buy some cute transition clothes if you find great sales.  (ON had 50% clearance last week.)  Clean your house.  Make some freezer meals that you can eat when baby comes home.  Take a nap....

  • Veg in front of the tv, take naps, make sure everything is ready for baby.
  • I'd go for a walk, visit some friends/family, work on LO's babybook or a quick craft project for the nursery.
  • ok, just thought of something else :)

how about baking?  i was just browsing some delicious sounding recipes!!!

  • I was just going to say baking too!  :-)  You've got something pretty big to celebrate in a few days - how about your favorite cake?
  • same here... im sooo bored but have no energy and can't sleep. lol
  • I know it isn't specific, but you could go do something you won't be able to do once LO arrives- go get a pedicure, grab a latte (or something else if you aren't drinking caffeine) and shop for awhile. A last "baby free" outing might be nice!
  • Today is my first day of maternity leave and I'm already feeling a little overwhelmed at how busy this week is going to be! I'm shopping today for the last minute things I want/need (breast pump, sleep nursing bra, vitamin D drops for LO)... I got up when DH did this morning and made him pancakes for breakfast (a hot breakfast on a weekday is a big luxury in this house!)... The next few days I'm visiting with other mom friends who are also on mat leave right now... I want to reorganize our filing system... And of course the naps - I'm planning lots of naps!
  • I say take a nap LOL I am in the same boat as my c-section is tomorrow morning and am trying to keep myself busy.. I have plenty to finish up just not the energy to do it.. Plus I am afraid of something starting with DH working 3 hours away today..I plan to watch some tv once I get what I absolutely have to get done done! I think half my energy issue is the crappy weather making me want to nap!
