Fertility Recommendations Please!

Hello everyone! My husband and I live in the Portland area and have been casually TTC for almost two years.  We?re finally ready to go to a fertility clinic to speed up the process. Problem is? we don?t know where to go! If you have any recommendations please share them. Thanks in advance for your help ? it?s much appreciated!

Re: Fertility Recommendations Please!

  • My friend LOVES Dr. Bankowski at Oregon Reproductive.  I know others on here have used him too.  She did IVF and has a singleton and twins.

  • I highly reccomend Dr. Bankowski at Oregon Reproductive.  Also, a few girls on here saw Dr. Hesla and were happy.

You probably want to get an HSG done, and an SA.  Have you been charting at all?  Do you know if you're ovulating?  Have you read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler?

Also, don't give up hope.  It took me 2 years.  I have other friends that got pregnant after 5 or 6 years.  So just because it's taking a long time, don't stress out!

  • My OB referred me to Dr. Matteri at ORM.  I got pg my first cycle with injectables +TI.  Another Secondary IF bumpie just found out she's pg today and she goes to ORM too.

  • This may sound weird, but try changing your lubricant. My husband and I TTC for three years and nothing. Then we switched to a conceive friendly lub- I think it was called conceive plus or something like that, I bought it at Rite Aid. It worked for us and within two months we were pregnant. Good luck!
  • I haven?t been charting but will start soon.  I?m not sure if I?m ovulating.  I have really irregular periods so I?m hoping we can do something to regulate them.  I?m going to buy TCOYF this weekend!   I?m excited to read it.  Changing lube doesn?t sound weird at all ? but we don?t use lube.

Thanks so much ? I really appreciate the recommendations!  We will definitely go with Oregon Reproductive (fortunately they?re ?in network? with our insurance)! J  Thank you for the words of encouragement!  It?s relieving to hear that despite infertility issues it is possible to have children!  Your words have given me renewed hope.

Another question, our insurance will pay 80% of testing ? did any of your insurances have the same policy?  If yes, how much did you pay out of pocket for the testing?  I know that the specialist will answer all of these questions when we have our consultation but I?m anxious to know.

  • Dr. Bankowski at Oregon Reproductive is awesome!! I highly recommend him. He is an awesome Dr. We just had our lil girl 2 weeks ago and he helped us get here. Good Luck and Keep us posted!!
