PSA to colic moms

I wish someone had shown me this when Kai was 3 weeks old and began screaming 14 hours a day!  Our first pediatrician told us he "just had colic", it might be my fault, he probably just had a bad personality, and to let him CIO at 1 month old.  Turns out he had reflux and a dairy allergy.

 Do NOT accept "its just colic" as an answer!!!!  I decided to go on my anti-colic vendetta today after I was complimented by 3 different people at church today about how lucky I am to have such a mellow, happy, easy-going baby!

    Yep. Thankfully I researched a ton on what caused "colicky" babies and turned out my baby had dairy allergy and reflux as well. Now I have the best baby ever! It's amazing. I have told everyone I know with babies!  Its amazing that pediatricians dont tell you this more often. Mine said "yeah crying for three hours straight is pretty typical at this age." Um yeah I dont think so .

    Yes, exactly! I did research before I even brought him to the pedi. I cut out dairy entirely and DS has been great ever since! I had a small glass if milk and ice cream one day and poor DS would not stop crying. So now I know it is definetly the dairy and I try my hardest to not have any. It's hard when there's cheese in so many things I make. I found a tiny amount of dairy doesn't affect him too much, but most days I don't have any.

    I started drinking fat free milk and saw a problem right away with colic symptoms. After 2 days I cut out drinking a few glasses of milk and the crying stopped. I am still using gripe water for gas problems but the crying for hours went away as soon as I stopped drinking milk went away.
