? If you are done having kiddos....

do you get super emotional as your baby gets older? ?My baby is 1 on Wed and I am soooo emotional about it. ?I love watching her grow up but something about this is really getting to me.?

Now I understand why my Mom treats my baby sister the way she does :)?

Re: ? If you are done having kiddos....

  • I'm pretty sure we're done. We wouldn't be heart broken to have more, but for now, I'm really lovin' life with my kiddos that I'm happy and content. So to say that I'm emotional watching them get older wouldn't necessarily be accurate. I can see myself getting emotional when my youngest gets into elementary or middle school, but he's only 2.5 right now. He is still a baby of sorts to me. I think I would get emotional when they're in school and much more independent but for now, they're still my babies. They still need me for a lot of things.  I still arrange playdates for them, activities, meals etc. Though they are getting more and more independent each day, I still have to do a lot for them. They're still my babies. Wink

  • Yes and no. I used to get super emotional when my kids got older, but since our third child was born, I've been more overwhelmed. Now when I see them getting older, I feel a mixture of sadness and happiness that they're getting more independent...and I'm one step closer to having a bit of freedom!

  • Eh, it depends.  I'm glad to be done but I do miss the days of them being tiny.  DD#2 has been such an easy little one too so it's a lot easier to soak up the the "baby" goodness she has left:)

  • I get so emotional!  We are only having one child and I miss having a little baby.  That's why I am so grateful to be able to SAH- I don't miss a minute of her growing and changing.

  • I am actually more emotional about my 16 year old.  She got asked to her junior prom last week and we bought her dress yesterday.  In a week and a half, we fly to Chicago to look at colleges.  I can remember the day that she was born like it was yesterday...and it makes me incredibly sad that in a year and a half, she'll be going to school somewhere far away from home.

With Ben, I do still consider him a baby of sorts, since he's dependent on me for everything.  But in a way, the older he gets, the more sad it makes me that we're aren't having any more kids.

  • Oh I do, I just got teary eyed looking at the bump's ticker "You have 199 days left until your childs birthday". Wha?

He's the caboose, and while I wouldn't have it any other way and I don't really desire to have more kids at all. I'm wanting him to stay little.
