First night was a success. I was really nervous. DD has been sleeping partly swaddled for months now and last night we decided no more sleep sacks. I put her down around 8p.m. and she STTN. Although I didn't, but I'm sure that will change soon.
Yay! Congrats! Collin hates being swaddled, but has to be swaddled to stay asleep. It makes it tough. It will be nice when he can stay asleep unswaddled!
I think we swaddled E. until she was like 6 months old... she was able to pull up in her crib and we were still strapping her into the "baby straight jackets" as we referred to them.
Yay! We swaddled Matthew until he was 6 months old as well. (We slowly weaned him from it following his signals. He actually only had one arm swaddled and everything else free for the longest time.) He STTN but only periodically. He tends to have gas issues, which keep him up. I have found that if he will roll over onto his stomach he ends up sleeping so much better. I tell myself that all babies will STTN eventually. And in my case that he will STTN consistently at some point hopefully sooner rather than later!

No she's been STTN for months now. But this is the first time she's STTN being unswaddle. Forgive me if that's what you were asking. I'm a tad slow this Monday Morning.
my DD hated being swaddled, even kicked out at the hospital, so we never really did it. Don't know if that is why she never STTN, but I guess it didn't bother me because I never thought about it.
Re: Sleeping unswaddled...
sleep training!!!
I know, I know, I need to get on board. He's having minor surgery in 1.5 weeks though, I kind of want to get through that first.
do it before and then after surgery you can retrain him quickly.
Its not that bad - sucky for a 1-3 nights and then DONE!
Of course do what you want, etc., etc. but I know people are so leery and then afterwards everyone is like - OMG why didn't I do that 2 months ago?

I swear I would still swaddle her if we could!
