AW! We made an offer on a house

H and I have been looking for a house for over 6 months.   Yesterday we found a perfect house and made an offer.   I just cant stop thinking about it and I really really hope we get this house.  The house is just perfect for our family and it it is in a nice neighborhood with all A rated schools.  The price is an absolute steal.  But the bad part is the house is a short sale.  We wont know for about 2 long months if the bank accepts our offer.  I am an extremely impatient person - waiting is not something I enjoy.

    Good luck!  Short sales are not for the impatient but they can be so worth it in the end.

    That's great!  Congratulations!  We're actually considering putting an offer on a short sale as well.  We've heard that in DC it can take up to 6 months to clear though, so I'm nervous about it.  Just out of curiosity, how close to the asking price was your offer?

    The average time til closing here is 3 to 6 months.  Grr.  Our offer was very close to the asking price.   The house is a steal at the full asking price.  There were several comps in the neighborhood that sold recently for $35 more per sq ft!  Of course the asking price is arbitrary and the bank may not even take a full price offer.   Thats the frustrating thing about short sales.  Good luck - let me know if you make an offer.  Then we can play the waiting game together.

    Yay!, but the waiting does stink.  We're still working through the foreclosure house that we've bid on.  DH hopes to have everything smoothed out by the end of this month so we can take advantage of the tax break.

    That's great!  Fingers crossed you don't have to wait too long and you get the house!
    I give up trying to get a ticker.  I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome.  Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself.  Hmmm.  How about...

    Congrats on twins AND making an offer. Hoping it gets accepted!  We live in S. FL (east coast) and are in escrow right now. We close on our 5 yr wedding anniv. in May.  Our first home so I am a bundle of nerves!  Sure are lots of deals to be made in FL right now.
