Diaper bag?

I have been trying to find the perfect diaper bag for a few weeks now and cant seem to find anything good. I was wondering if anyone has ever used just a regular backpack for their diaper bag? Do you think that would work?

I did a backpack with DD and it worked...but I fell in love with the messenger bag from skiphop.com and am going to get that this time.

I am not one of those people who will spend a fortune on a diaper bag. ( each to his own ) here is the one i registered for. Cute and has a lot of compartments.

yes, you can use a regular backpack. However, I like everything organized in my bag and a regular backpack won't have all the pockets like a typical diaper bag. It would drive me crazy. There are diaper bag backpacks, so that's what I would look for. Petunia Pickle Bottom bags have backpack straps.

I have a Petunia Picklebottom Bag, that has straps that hook to a stroller, so it's perfect for all day outings, and it was used a ton when ds was smaller and needed more stuff when we went out. I'll start using it again more when dd is born. That said, you might find a backpack useful when your baby gets bigger and you find yourself only grabbing a bottle and couple of diapers if you're just running an errand.

I got a brown 5 piece diaper bag from Wal-Mart. It came with a larger tote for day trips, a smaller bag for quick trips with tons of compartments, a changing pad, diaper cooler, and dirty duds bag. I am going to be using my Vera Bradley "Miller" bag. I love that it is lined with pockets for lots of storage and organization. It's got a cute pattern, washable and lots of space. Check vera online, they often have free shipping and discounts to use. Not sure if vera is your thing though!
