2nd Trimester

wrinkled clothes pushing me over the edge

This nesting instinct is very strong in me.  Our dresser has been missing ONE plastic piece for weeks, so we cannot build it.  Supposedly it is now on its way, so I went ahead and washed the buttload of clothes my friend gave me.  (She had 2 boys & generous inlaws!)

Well, I separated the clothes by size before washing them.  I usually wash & hubs puts away from dryer.  So, I said, each load is a different size, so go ahead and keep them separate & just lay them flat in piles, and I'll fold them later.  My plan was to clear out a drawer in the guest room today.  Well, he literally just wadded them up and mixed them together.  Now we are resorting them all.  Granted, they are only knit onesies, but it is making SO MAD that they are all wrinkly.  I wanted everything to be perfect before baby came, bc I know things will be crazy after he arrives.

I want to cry or punch a wall or something.  I'm trying to take deep breaths but I'm still so annoyed at him.  If he had just told me, I would've gone and done it myself, but now he is making all these excuses about how he didn't have time to do it right...only now telling me bc he sees I'm upset that they are all wadded up and mixed up.  :(

Re: wrinkled clothes pushing me over the edge

  • I am sorry but I have to laugh.  I just got done washing all of DS2 and some of DS3 new clothes and cleaning out DS2 winter clothes from his closet and drawers.  Everytime I put something in the drawer DS came and ripped them all out again.   So yes just wait until the real crazy times come.

ETA: And I don't mean laugh at you just at the situation.

  • Get the iron out and take out your aggression on those poor clothes, lol

I completely understand your feeling of crying/punching things... and at the same time I'm giggling at you :-)

I nearly punched DH's lights out yesterday over hair bows. Stick out tongue

definitely, I know I won't care after this baby is born, so that's why I just want to indulge this one time in getting the nursery set up well...it makes me happy, but I know I can handle the mania later...since I have practice living w/ a sloppy husband!

  • Put them back in the dryer with a wet towel for 20 minutes. Problem solved!!!!Big Smile

I would be annoyed at DH too.....but they dont think like we do..LOL

  • I know how you feel! I washed a huge box of hand-me-downs from a friend whose little boy grew out of them and there was cat hair all over them, so I immediately washed them because the cat hair grossed me out. Well they were sitting in the laundry basket and DH apparently needed the basket... so what does he do with the CLEAN clothes... He dumps all of them back into the original box..... thats got cat hair in it. I wanted to scream!!!! I would have rather he dumped them all on the floor than back into that box!!! oh well... guess I'll be washing them all again. Lovely.
