    Either the baby wisperer (there is a book about toddlers)

    or what worked for us is "parenting with love and logic". It solved out hitting problem our running off problem, and now we are using it with biting. I swear if not for the book I would go crazy. However it is very anti spanking so if you spank it isn't for you.
