Last night I had the kids sixth grade birthday party, a month late, JM is in the inclusion class due to his aspergers. As the class had many kids in it that are "normal" and well then the kids we all love, ASD children etc. I let them all invite 12 children to the party that they wanted. We sat down one on one and made out their list. JM gave me his and I encouraged him to invite all the kids in his class that were awesome, and he did. Every child from his class that we invited RSVP, the children from KR and Doug's class was more like 20 to 50% came. The mom's from JM's class all came in, all thanked me and have today, the day after, sent me email thank you notes, telling me how their children never get invited to anything. It breaks my heart, to thank that so many children are being left out. It makes me want to throw a party just for our awesome children...
Plan parties for your kids, invite everyone, include everyone, do not think that because your child is as awesome as mine are that they should not have parties. I had a MAJOR sensory party last night, lots of stuff going on, all the children had a blast, there were no melt downs, there were no issues. I had 40 plus children here.. and there were no fights etc.. Do it.. let your children be normal.. even though we love them being awesome..
Re: I can not express how much I was given lastnight, give your awesome children parties.

What an amazing thing you did. I have to admit that I teared up reading how appreciative those moms were. Our kids are awesome, if only other people could see that.
I really enjoyed the photos. You throw one rocking kid's party! Thanks for sharing.
LOOK HOW BIG THEY ARE!!!
OMG!
I'm glad you guys had such an amazing party. I agree that our kids deserve as much fun as anyone else
The girls had their party at Chuck e Cheese this year (I know,
) We made sure to invite all of Ava's ABA pre-school class as well. This kids had a blast.
