IVF question. I took my last BCP on Tuesday night. I still haven't started AF and I took my first injection tonight. 250IU of follistim and 4 vials of Menopur. Is that a big deal that i didn't start? I haven't had that issue before. it usually takes a few days for me to start when I get off BCP a week before i finish them but i never started the meds this quickly.  I am freaking myself out but the office doesn't take calls on Saturday unless you call emergency number. Should I worry? I go to the dr on Tuesday but what if I am wasting all these outrageously priced meds????

    i was just at the REs office two days ago and I didnt realize that I could get a period after the meds before injections.  When I asked the nurse "i'll get my period?" she said " you might, it could be really light or not at all" so, hopefullly this eases your mind that all will be fine.

    Since they put you on the BCPs, they should know where you are in your cycle when you start your meds, so I don't think it matters. You could always call to ease your mind.
    1 ectopic 3 m/c's prior to 5/05 Un-freaking-explained IF 5/05 IVF, BFN 9/05 FET 3d5e, BFP = Beautiful Baby Girl (lucky pg #5) 8/08 Fet 3d5e, cp 12/08 IVF with PGD, transfer 3, BFN 5/09 FET transfer 4, BFN Hail Mary IUI with Follistim 9/11 BFP; 9/22 confirmed tubal/MTX 4/10 FET 3d5e, BFP!!!! m/c 5/26/10 1 year break and yet another m/c 5/11 FET #5 initial beat 121, second beta 7 Lap and removal of L tube and very mild endo 7/11 Suprise BFP 12/11 & m/c @ 8 wks. After 11 losses and one beautiful miracle our journey is over, we are thankful and at peace.

    I have always started my period in between. My RE does a baseline u/s before I start meds...and I take lupron also.  Different protocols call for different things.  I remember my NP telling me I may not get one also.  No worries...they know what they are doing :)
