Sleep study.

Sleep study was a big fat fail. 2 hours in he had a desaturation go down to the 60s and required stimulation to come back up :c( Aiden can't go to daycare on oxygen and we can't afford a nanny. We have 1 month to figure it out. I am so stressed out it just feels like this is never going to end.

Who else had babies on O2 long term? What did you do when you had to face going back to work or losing your job? When did your LO come off? Tell me your crappy lung story.

Just wanted to add he weighs 9lb 5.5oz now! Can't believe how well he has gained! He has doubled in size since leaving the NICU!

A small start at 2lb 9oz, 60 day NICU stay, and 6 months of O2 My 30 weeker is growing up! <a href="http://s83.photobucket.com/albums/j320/bippy798/?action=view

There aren't ANY daycares that will take him with O2? That seems so wrong to me :(

  • My husband does childcare inspections for a living so we have checked with all of the reputable daycares in our area. They are not medical professionals and if something happened they could be sued. I have no idea what we are supposed to do. I am wondering if we would qualify for social security income if I had to quit my job. I bring in half or our income and we can't afford for me not to work. I wonder if we could get paid disability basically since Aiden requires special care. I am also wondering about home health but I don't know if my insurance will cover it.

  • I am so sorry.  I can't imagine the stress. :(  Stella was on home O2 from the end of August to the end of December.  She came home on 1/4 ltr.  We kept her hooked up to the oximeter during the night in case she pulled out her canula & de-satted.  Is your LO on some kind of monitor at night?

I wish I had some ideas for your situation but I don't.  Good luck & i will be thinking of you guys!

  • He is currently on the monitor 24/7. He still has enough desats to warrant it.

  • Have you looked into ARC? I have heard that they have daycare for special needs babies. I know one of the mom's on here sent her son to one. They have on staff nurses, so I can imagine that a baby on O2 would not be a problem!
