I should not have listened to NPR today.

On This American Life, some guy who lives in NYC told the story about how he went to pee one day and there was a RAT in his toilet.  It had swum up through the pipes.  I don't know how he got it out because I was so freaked out I had to turn the radio off.  And I am going to be terrified to pee in the middle of the night from now on.

    There was an article in the paper about it happening local to me recently...

    I have septic, we have diferent fdars :-P

    When I was in elementary school, I watched a news story/tv show (can't remember exactly) about a snake that had come up through the pipes and was poking it's head out of the water in a toilet. From that day forward, I have ALWAYS checked in the toilet before sitting down. Freaks me out just thinking about it.

    Yikes, but don't worry.  The rats I've seen in DC were too big to fit through a toilet hole.  No joke.  They were like cats.

    I saw this on America's Funniest Home Videos when I was a kid, and it freaked me out so much I'm still nervous to go to the bathroom at night (and we're on septic now!).

    There was a Rescue 911 episode about this. I check every toilet now.
