I would be giving the parents a call but probably have a hard time being nice about it.
I thought breakfast dates were supposed to be made in advance?????

If I leave here tomorrow, would you still remember me. For I must be traveling on now. Because there are too many places I've got to see. -Allen Collins & Ronnie VanZant

Ugh, I too would be calling the parents, because they obviously knew the little girl was going to come ring your doorbell at that early hour. We just got up so that would definitely bother me too!

I would have walked little NextDoorNeighbor kid back home and leaned on their doorbell, in a manner of fake concern, saying "OMG, She was at my door and I know you'd want her safe at home!" kind of thign. I imagine her parents were sleeping in and she sneaked out.
SO SINGS MY SOUL *WHAM!* MY SAVIOR GOD TO THEE *WHAM!* HOW GREAT THOU ART *WHAM!* HOW GREAT THOU ART *WHAM!*
My kids are up at 6. I can't remember the last time I saw a 7 on the clock. It's been close to 3 years. But just cause we're up doesn't mean I let the kids go knocking on the neighbors.
7:45 is early to go ringing.
OMG, I can't believe her parents let her come to your house at 7:45. I, too, would have walked her back over, if only to see if she had either a)snuck out or b)see if her parents are really that clueless. 7:45? WTF?
Re: Waking up at 7:45 to the doorbell ringing is not how to start the day

That would have irritated me.
Glad Audrey is making friends though! Just need to teach the friend how to read a clock
