We like Emmeline for a girl, no nickname. We don't want to go too trendy, is it too close to Emma?

No, it's a totally different name. My friend has a 1 year old named Emmeline and she doesn't have a nickname. It's not trendy.

i think they are very close, but if you like emmeline, then you should use it.

They are close and Emma could be a nn for Emmeline, but if you don't ever call her that, no one else will either.

Yay! Our daughter is Emmeline, and no - it's not too close. We don't use a nickname either.

I think Emmeline is VERY pretty! But then my name Is Emilee and I do think it is similar to Emma. One of those things that if you give her a nickname she most likely wont go by anything else.

Although no one in my family called me anything other than Emilee, I do have a couple people who call/called me Em and Emmie.

My niece is named Emilyn (just spelled differently) and I think because of the spelling people...when reading it, don't associate it with Emma really. My sister found this name in a book about medieval names so she didn't try to add her own flare by using a y, etc... Wink
