First night with babysitter = FAIL. :(

Tonight was the first time I've left DS with anyone (other than my mom or DH) to put to bed. I had plans to go out to a big dinner with a group of friends, and I sooo needed this night out after the week I've had.

The sitter is the daughter of a friend of mine (who I happened to be out to dinner with), and around 7:15 my friend got a text saying, "Mom, help, he won't stop crying and he won't take the bottle!" *sigh*

It wasn't her fault at all...she's a really sweet girl and is fabulous with babies; DS was just having an off night. I felt so badly for her, and my evening was cut short because I had to rush home to relieve her! Boo. :(

So instead of being out with my friends having a good time, I'm at home, in bed with my laptop. Again. :(

    Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear that!  If it makes you feel any better, I'm home in bed with my laptop again, too.  My hubby's asleep beside me, cat asleep at my feet.  Waiting for Nate to wake for a feeding.  Misery loves company!

    That stinks :( I left DS with my aunt so I could go out for dinner a couple months ago and I got a phone call before I even got to the restaurant that he had thrown up but he was fine (still smiling and everything) and I was to enjoy my night.  A little while later she called back to say he'd thrown up 3 more times...once I could have dealt with, but after 4 times I couldn't just leave him there. 

    I at least got to finish my margarita before I had to leave :

    I got a call like this from my babysitter the first time too :(

    Hopefully our LO's will get more comfortable with babysitters soon!

    LOL...I was just happy that I was there long enough for one beautiful glass of pinot noir!

    Is it bad that I haven't left DS with anyone but DH and it's usually for no longer that an hour?  I just can't do it!  I also would have to plan in advance pumping wise because I'm one of those who produces just a little bit more than he eats every day.

    My poor mom is about to stage an intervention I think...  Ha ha!

    We have yet to leave our kids with a babysitter because DH only trusts family to watch them. :sigh:
